Daisy Kent Reveals Real Reason Why She Turned Down The Bachelorette 2 Weeks Before Live Finale

Daisy Kent finally revealed why she turned down the Bachelorette and if she’d sign up for Bachelor in Paradise or a future Bachelorette season.

In a conversation with Nick Viall on his The Viall Files podcast, the Bachelor runner-up opened up about the reasons she chose to turn down the offer from ABC.

“There’s a few reasons,” Daisy explained on the podcast. “So one, my health is an aspect of it. I knew as the lead, it’s a lot on you—like not only emotionally but also physically, too.”

Daisy also said that she was considering becoming the lead of The Bachelorette up until two weeks before the finale.

“I was very open and honest about it and very transparent that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it but like two weeks before [AFTR I had decided],” Daisy shared.

She added that she wanted to prioritize her health and wasn’t entirely ready for an engagement at the end of the season.

“There’s around 30 people and, like, you can’t send everyone home at once. What if I didn’t actually like them?” she explained. “I don’t think I could sit there and kiss someone and you know what I mean? So, I thought really long and hard about all of it.”

“All of it wasn’t an easy decision,” she continued. “I was wondering after it got announced like how I would feel. If I would be like, ‘Oh, I wish I would have done it.’ But I’m so happy right now that I didn’t, so it feels like I know I made the right decision for me.”

She even consulted former Bachelorettes about what their experiences and what’s in store for her.

“I talked to a lot of past leads when it was in talks with me,” Daisy added. “I just knew from the health point it would be a lot.”

“Everyone was like, ‘It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done,’ but a lot of people were like, ‘It’s also the best thing too,’ and no one regretted it,” she said. “But [they said], ‘If [you’re] doing it, make sure you’re ready.’ It didn’t feel right.”

Daisy is ready to dive back into dating!

“It’s not that I’m not ready to date, it’s that I wasn’t ready for that specific thing,” she said. “And I think coming off the show and doing the show I didn’t realize how much of kind of a big thing it is, if that makes sense.”

“I think right now, I just want to live and be happy,” Daisy concluded. “I’m always going to jump at opportunities, but I think just this specific opportunity wasn’t right for me right now.”

Would she consider being a lead in the future?

“I think I definitely could,” she says on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “I think right now, just in my life, like I said, I had two really huge things happen in a short amount of time. I haven’t really just had time to, like, live and be me and do the things that I want to do,” she said.

Are we going to see Daisy on Bachelor in Paradise season 10?

“In this moment, probably no. But I don’t know.”

“You never really know. But I think I didn’t realize or understand how crazy some people are about show,” she continued. “I think right now, I always want to be involved in some way, but I think right now, I kind of just want to take control of my life.”
