Kim Reveals The Exact Moment She Knew She Was Going Home – ‘My Heart Was Left Lying on The Ground
Kim spoke exclusively about the exact moment she realised she was going home from The Golden Bachelor Australia and opened up about whether she still believes that her “third person” is out there.
The recently eliminated contestant said her “heart was left lying on the ground” when Bear sent her home right before the finale.

Kim admitted she felt the atmosphere shift just before the rose ceremony. “My entire job as a doctor is reading people’s body language,” she explained.
She noticed the makeup artists, hairdressers and mic technicians behaving differently; “everyone was really quiet on the day that I went home,” she said. Deep in her heart she sensed things were not going to end in the way she had hoped. “I thought we had a genuine connection, but I thought this is ominous,” she reflected.

Despite the blow, Kim does not regret exposing her heart to the nation. “I made a connection with Bear. I feel like maybe he did his grieving in a different way to me and I think we both showed each other that there was a slightly different way to do it. Nothing is right and he is on his own journey and I am on mine.”
She spoke about being a widow twice and how she discussed her past with her adult children; together they hoped the show would showcase that she is still “the person that my husbands loved.”
“I’m really proud to put it out there, because I actually think for me, I didn’t get divorced, I didn’t get cheated on, I didn’t get treated with the disrespect that so many of the other women had experienced and what that’s done,” she explained.

“It sounds silly, but when you’re widowed, you don’t lose yourself, because that person still exists. You lose the person that you love, but the person that they built you up to be in your very happy marriages is still there.”
Since leaving the series she says she has not returned to the dating world.
“I’m not going to let myself be chosen. I’m going to choose and I have had a big break from dating and it has been kind of refreshing,” she shared. At the same time she acknowledges that shutting your heart off helps no one and she remains confident that her person is still out there.

“I have had nothing but positive experience of relationships and marriage,” Kim stated. “I have got 30 years left and I would love to, and I know I have the capacity to do it again and do it ever better. My third person in my life is going to get all the benefits of all the life experience and I hope thrives under my love.”
The season finale of The Golden Bachelor Australia airs Sunday at 7 pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
