Kelsey Anderson ‘Went Back and Forth’ on Whether Daisy Kent Spoiled Joey’s Proposal to Her
The majority of the Bachelor Nation applauded Daisy Kent’s exit on the show and the way she handled things on the Bachelor finale.
Daisy decided to self eliminate at the altar before she could get dumped.
“The thing is, you’re not going to choose me,” she started. “The last couple of days, I realized that, you know, you’re not my person and I know that you know I’m not. And as much as that hurts, I know you said you want the best for me, so I’m going to do what’s best for me and I’m going to go.”
Daisy also let Kelsey know she was going to leave. Which means Kelsey basically walked into the proposal knowing Joey was going to propose to her.
Some Bachelor fans thought Daisy stepped on Kelsey’s proposal by doing that.
On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Kelsey was asked the same. “This is one of the first times, I think, we’ve ever seen this on a season. But Daisy does come to you, Kelsey, and basically says, like, ‘I don’t think he’s going to pick me, so, like, I’m done.’ Was there a part of you that kinda wishes she didn’t do that? Do you feel like that might’ve spoiled the moment for you?”
“I think that I went back and forth at the very beginning of, like, ‘Oh, you know, I really, I don’t know. Did I want that? Did I not?’ But at the end of the day, it’s what happened,” Kelsey replied.
“And I know that she had really good intent and, you know, I think that it did take a little bit of the stress off my shoulders going in. So I do appreciate Daisy and I think that she’s a wonderful woman.”
Daisy also denied stepping on Kelsey and Joey’s proposal.
“I was very vocal about that it wasn’t me and I knew it wasn’t me and I knew it felt wrong,” Daisy said. “I said, ‘If I’m feeling this way, there’s no way he’s not feeling this way.’ And it was really, really hard. If it had been a different girl besides Kelsey that I didn’t build such a good friendship with and somebody who I know and respect… we just had a lot of good conversations.”
Daisy then said that “she could just tell” by Joey and Kelsey’s eye contact that they were meant to be.
“We were very supportive of each other and I was like, ‘I know he’s not my person, he’s your person,’” Daisy continued. “She was like, ‘I love him so much,’ and was like, ‘I’ve been worried about you because I thought it was me and wanted you to be OK.’ [I told her], ‘I’m OK and I want you to be happy.’”
