Gabi Elnicki Reveals This Funny Producer Error Was The Reason She Knew Zach Was Picking Kaity

Gabi Elnicki is opening up about the moment she realized she wasn’t going to be the winner.

A big blunder by the shows producers was one of the clues that she knew Zach was going to pick Kaity.

During an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked Gabi, “How did you know you were first to arrive at the engagement location?”

Gabi revealed that her van was labeled ‘rose ceremony #1’, which was pretty much the a giveaway.

“That’s a really muddy spot. Y’all shouldn’t pull in right there. When it actually matters, when Kaity arrives, don’t do that to her,” Gabi said when she got down from the van.

But that wasn’t the only reason she knew it wasn’t her.

“During that Rose Ceremony when he was only speaking to Kaity and he wasn’t making eye contact with me, it was a really isolating feeling. In that moment, I knew it was not me. Anyone who loved me and wanted it to be me wouldn’t speak of something that was a special moment in that way.”

She continued, “I understand that he was speaking about his parameters and the mistake he made by setting that parameter, however, there was a level of the words being really mean. Why was he saying those words? It was so mean, so I knew it was not me.”

Gabi said, “When I met his family, I felt so much love, but I think  I was craving my family so badly and I just wanted to be home with the people I loved. I could feel the love in his family. They are really close, and it reminded me so much of my family and I felt very in love in that moment. I don’t know if I was just so craving my family that I just needed any kind of love. On that day on the beach, I knew for sure it wasn’t me, and I said that.”

So, why didn’t she leave the show if she knew she wasn’t going to be picked?

“I thought about my friendship with Kaity and I have hesitated saying this, but I think it is important to know why I did stay. I thought about my relationship with Kaity and if I were in her shoes. It was clear that Kaity was his choice, she had been his choice, but if I had left, she could’ve felt like she was the choice by default and she was truly his choice.”

“I never wanted her to feel like I left so he had to choose her. He was always choosing Kaity. The only reason I would’ve left was because I knew he was choosing Kaity, but I didn’t want her to feel any kind of doubt when he proposed to her and she watched it all back.”
