Tyler Cameron Says Friend Matt James ‘Dodged a Bullet’ Skipping Clare’s Season of The Bachelorette
Tyler Cameron talks about his friend, Matt James, skipping Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette.
Matt James was originally cast as one of the suitors for Clare’s Bachelorette season earlier this year before he was announced as the next Bachelor.
“That boy dodged a bullet,” Tyler told E! News. “That boy is on his own. Just ’cause it’s a mess. It’s just a disaster. You know what I mean?”
“It’s nothing about Clare. It’s a mess, you know?,” he continues. “Just to be able to jump and skip and be the Bachelor, like who, I mean, of course, good for him, so I am very happy he’s not there.”
Clare Crawley took a dig at Matt James on Twitter even before he was announced as the next lead.
“If you are doing interviews and creating Cameo accounts before you are even on my season… you are in it for the wrong reasons… #dontwasteyourtime,” Clare tweeted.
Respect the opportunity you’ve been given. Respect the rules. Respect me. @BacheloretteABC,” she wrote in another tweet.
Tyler then went on to say that he “would have loved a showdown” between Matt and Clare on the current Bachelorette season. “They would have probably made that the first one-on-one date. They would have had to hash it out. Matt would have probably gotten kicked out and it would have been hilarious.”
Matt James was announced as the franchise’s first black lead back in June. The next season of The Bachelor is expected to air in January 2021.
