Susie answers How and Why She Slid into Clayton’s DM’s After Breakup

The Bachelor Finale ended with Susie Evans turning down Clayton Echard’s proposal and leaving Iceland single.

Which left Bachelor Nation wondering how and why she slid into the Bachelor’s DM’s after their break up on the show.

Susie is finally opening up about the how’s and why’s and breaking down the timeline of their reunion, admitting she “slid right in” to Clayton’s DMs.

“I got my phone back, called my parents, DM’d Clayton,” she tells Nick Viall on the March 16 episode of  Viall Files podcast—”I was in the Newark airport.” Adding that she didn’t have any intention of starting a relationship with Clayton.

“I was like, ‘Are you OK? I will respect your boundaries whatever they are but if you want to have one more candid conversation, here’s my phone number, give me a call,'” she said.

Clayton then went on to call Susie and they spent five hours on the phone together and “talked every night after that for several weeks, before deciding to meet back up.”

“I was never mad at Clayton for anything ever because I was like, ‘I do not envy your position, I don’t know that I could’ve done better. I totally understand.'”

“The first time we talked on the phone we FaceTimed probably five hours until we couldn’t keep our eyes open anymore. I felt totally comfortable reopening that relationship back up again after getting the answers to all of the questions that I had.”
