Why Taylor Swift Skipped the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Despite Being in Los Angeles Just a Day Earlier

Taylor Swift had fans wondering whether she would make a surprise appearance at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but the pop superstar had other plans. Instead of joining the glamorous event in Los Angeles, Swift headed to Kansas City to cheer on her husband, Travis Kelce, during the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The singer’s absence from the star-studded fashion show caught the attention of fans, particularly because she had been in Los Angeles just one night earlier for the Academy Museum Gala on October 17. With the fashion world gathering for one of the year’s most anticipated runway events on October 18, some fans had hoped Swift would stay in the city for another evening of celebrity glamour.

However, Swift chose football over fashion, making her priorities clear as she showed up to support Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium.

Taylor Swift Chooses Travis Kelce’s Football Game Over the Runway

Swift attended the Chiefs’ home game wearing a Chiefs-red turtleneck sweater, embracing the team’s signature colors as she cheered from a VIP suite. She was joined by WNBA star Caitlin Clark, musician Este Haim, and her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce.

The singer appeared enthusiastic throughout the game, sharing reactions to the action on the field while supporting her husband. Her appearance quickly attracted attention from fans, with photographs capturing her game-day look and the company she kept in the stands.

Swift’s decision to attend the game rather than the fashion show was especially notable given her recent appearance at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. Nevertheless, the singer made the trip to Kansas City to be there for Kelce.

Taylor Swift Has Not Attended the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Since 2014

Although Swift was absent from the 2026 event, she has a memorable history with the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The singer last performed at the show in 2014, when it was held in London.

During that appearance, Swift performed her hit songs “Blank Space” and “Style.” She wore a peach outfit with lace detailing before changing into a black two-piece ensemble, delivering performances that became memorable highlights of the event.

The singer also shared the stage with several models who were close friends of hers at the time, including Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge, and Cara Delevingne.

Swift first appeared at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2013. She performed alongside Fall Out Boy on “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light ‘Em Up)” before taking the stage for “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Her performances made her a popular part of the show’s entertainment lineup, blending her music with the extravagant runway spectacle.

Why Taylor Swift Has Missed the Show Since Its Return

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned in 2024 after a several-year hiatus, but Swift has not attended either of the revived editions. Her absence in 2026 continued that trend.

While fans may have hoped to see the singer return to the event, there has been no publicly stated explanation from Swift indicating that she deliberately avoided the fashion show. Her attendance at Kelce’s football game, however, offered a clear explanation for why she was in Kansas City rather than at the Los Angeles event.

The 2026 show featured a lineup of high-profile models and musical performers, making it one of the fashion industry’s major celebrity gatherings of the year.

For Swift, though, the evening was about supporting her husband rather than walking into another star-studded entertainment event.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Continue to Draw Attention

Swift and Kelce’s relationship continues to attract considerable interest from both music and sports fans. Whenever the singer attends a Chiefs game, her appearance becomes a talking point, from her outfit choices to her enthusiastic reactions in the stands.

Her latest outing demonstrated that even during a busy celebrity weekend, supporting Kelce remained on her schedule. While fans missed the possibility of seeing her at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Swift’s appearance at Arrowhead Stadium provided its own memorable celebrity moment.

For now, fans looking forward to seeing Swift back at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will have to wait. Her last appearance remains her 2014 performance, while her October 18, 2026, outing was dedicated to cheering on Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs.
