Jesse Palmer Reveals Which Hometown Date Made Him Cry During Joey’s Season

Jesse Palme talked about why the hometown dates are such an important part of the Bachelor journey and which of Joey’s hometown dates made him cry.

Joey travelled to the hometowns of Kelsey, Rachel, Daisy, and Maria on season 28 of The Bachelor.

“You get to see a different side of someone. You get a chance to understand why they are the way they are because of the influence of those closest to them,” Jesse said. “It’s usually sort of just part of the process and I think that it’s different this time.”

What moment had him the most emotional during hometowns?

I cried watching Kelsey’s talk with her dad! It’s now so easy to understand what qualities Kelsey is looking for in her potential husband, because those are the same qualities and feelings that her dad has towards her mother. That conversation was truly heartwarming.”

“Certainly with her, she’s opened up to him about the tragic passing of her mom and the influence that her father has been in her life, with her brothers and sisters,” he explained. “I think Joey is about to get a front row seat to that and really get to understand that side of Kelsey.”

“I think everyone’s families gave great advice. Families always want to encourage their children in love, but also want to protect their hearts,” he continued. “These families know their daughters better than anyone and the advice they gave is specific to their own situations, experiences, and personalities.

He also said how his perspective towards these dates have now changed after having his own daughter in his life.

“It really did! Call me old-fashioned, but I believe in showing respect towards a potential partner’s family, and I think all families involved appreciated Joey’s gestures.”

Jesse Palmer then went on to tease Kelsey Anderson’s ominous “we need to talk” note.

“‘We need to talk’ can mean a lot of things. Normally, it’s not great. Nobody, including Joey or myself, had any idea where this was going,” Jesse tells Entertainment Weekly.

“There’s, like, a conversation that needs to be had before going into the rose ceremony. It is more pressing now than later,” Kelsey told the camera. “I don’t want to blindside Joey, ever. I just want to be honest and I want to be able to tell him everything that’s on my mind. I would rather leave now than have my heart completely broken.”
