Jan Speaks Out about Bear ‘Rejecting’ Her – “Quite surprised”

Jan won over Australia when she entered the house of The Golden Bachelor Australia 2025 with a bright smile and a glass of champagne. But on Sunday night her journey came to an end when she didn’t receive a rose from Bear. In an exit interview, Jan admitted she was surprised by how she felt.

‘How come I have been single for so long? I was badly burned, there was infidelity. He couldn’t understand why he couldn’t have both her and I,’ an emotional Jan confided to Bear.

“I have been vulnerable and I’ve been rejected and I’m okay with it,” she explained. She added, “I’ve been, I think, afraid of rejection, afraid of opening myself up to people and I’m quite surprised at my reaction. It’s been a great, great experience.”

Jan said her time on the show has taught her a lot. She reflected, “I think he has enabled me to open up and hopefully I will continue to do that and find relationships where I can be myself.”

The 66-year-old age-transformation coach revealed she has always believed she will meet the love of her life in her golden years. She said she’s now started the process and plans to keep putting herself out there until she finds someone who appreciates her for who she truly is.

‘I wanted a rose tonight, I wanted to continue the journey. But I am really proud that I put myself in a position where I was vulnerable,’ Jan later admitted

Jan and Bear had shared a memorable one-on-one date after a group date at the Sydney Opera House. She described the experience as “surreal… a date that I could never have dreamed of and for Bear to organise this, it takes my breath away.”

Although their connection seemed promising on that date, Jan admitted she was aware that in recent weeks she had taken a step back and worried that the spark between them was fading. In the end, she and Gera were eliminated in Episode 7, leaving just three women — Janette, Kim and Sunny — still in Bear’s search for love.
