Guy Gansert’s Ex Wife Claims He ‘Threatened to Shoot Her’ – He Responds

The Golden Bachelorette is generating a lot of buzz, but not necessarily for the right reasons anymore.

A 2021 filing for a temporary protective order against Guy Gansert has resurfaced.

Guy Gansert’s ex-wife Heidi O’Gara filed for a temporary protective order in Reno, Nevada in October 2021 but dismissed it a month later before it was granted.

On October 12, 2021, his ex wife sought a “protection order against domestic violence” following a troubling encounter with Guy. According to her account, after she and a female friend left the gym and got into their car, Guy approached them and engaged in a brief conversation.

When the woman exited the vehicle, she noticed that he had placed something under the rear driver’s tire. Just as she was about to investigate, Guy removed the object and began to insult her, according to her claims.

“After disparaging me for some time and my now-boyfriend, he pointed his finger like a gun then ‘shot’ at me,” the ex claimed in the documents.

“He motioned like he was going to shoot me with his hand shaped like a pistol.”

The friend allegedly missed him making this motion because her “head was down and she didn’t see it.”

This incident was the first time he threatened her, the ex noted.

Although she dismissed it before it was granted, the fact that it was filed at all suggests there were serious concerns at the time. This could raise red flags for viewers and the production team about his past behavior. It’s a delicate situation that could impact his standing in the competition and how audiences perceive him moving forward.

The former partner opted not to call the police but instead filed for a restraining order, seeking up to 45 days of protection. In her filing, she stated, “He is unstable. He mentioned that he took Ambien at 4 AM.”

“He also said he took 10 pills. I don’t know if the pills were all Ambien.

“He doesn’t sleep and is extremely unstable.”

Ambien is a sedative used for the short-term treatment of insomnia.

His ex wife also claimed that Guy would send her “stacks of text messages” before the October 2021 incident.

The texts, which he allegedly began sending in July 2021, were about “trying to reconcile” – but she said he would then “flip to anger.”

“If needed, I can provide text messages and a video of adverse party trespassing on my property when he was aware I was not home,” she wrote.

Guy Gansert addressed his ex-wife’s past protective order filing and calls it ‘an unfortunate situation’.

“I would like to respond to articles about a personal matter from 2021,” he began. “This was an unfortunate situation that occurred during an incredibly stressful time for me and my former spouse and was ultimately resolved when she voluntary [sic] dismissed her request for a protective order. Together we crafted a resolution that was agreeable to both parties.”

“My ex-wife and I recently asked the court to seal her application for the protective order as we had hoped to maintain privacy for our family,” he continued, referring to a joint Sept. 30 request to seal the case. “But, I know that with being in the public eye comes responsibility. My ex-wife and I were married for 34 years and in that time had four children who we raised together and deeply love. They are my greatest accomplishment. My divorce was extremely difficult for me and led me to a very low point in my life and as a result I acted in a way that does not represent who I am.”

He concluded: “The past few years have caused me to conduct a deep personal evaluation, and I will always continue to work to improve myself. I am so appreciative of The Golden Bachelorette and Bachelor Nation as well as my family, who have been exceptionally supportive during the most difficult times of my life. I am eternally grateful for them.”
