Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay and season 13 winner Bryan Abasolo tied the knot on Saturday, August 24.
According to People, the newest Bachelor couple got married in a romantic ceremony at the Royalton Suites Cancún in Mexico.
“Rachel was the epitome of elegance and grace as she walked down the aisle towards Bryan. The ceremony was filled with so much joy, love and laughter,” Michael Russo tells the publication. “As they exchanged their personal handwritten vows, you could feel the unbridled emotion and powerful connection between them.”
Some of Rachel’s friends from her season of the Bachelor, Kristina Schulman, Astrid Loch and Bibiana Julian were in attendance.
Rachel’s wedding gown was designed by Randi Rahm. A white gown with a long tulle skirt and a short-sleeved top with leaf details.
“I’m a curvy girl. I didn’t want something that hugged my figure or to take away from me being a bride, where you’re focusing on the wrong thing,” she explained.
“When I put on the dress, it just spoke to me in a different way. I felt like it encompassed so much of my personality. I was getting a little bit of what Bryan wanted, but at the same time, staying true to myself,” she said.
“When I put it on … I hate cliches, and I fell into the cliche of when you put it on, you’ll know. And I put this one on, [and] I can’t use any other word other than I melted. I felt so comfortable, so free, so like me, but beautiful at the same time.”
About the TV wedding, she says, “I wanted a TV wedding. I 100 percent did. Then, as we got to know each other in the real world and things became normalized, and then I started hearing horror stories about these TV weddings, I am very thankful that we don’t have one and that we’re doing it on our own. I also think that it shows to the world or Bachelor Nation that what we have is more real.”
“We don’t need TV. We don’t need to get paid. We’re doing this because this is what we want to do. And I think it has more meaning.”
