Kaity Biggar and Zach Shallcross Are Getting Married This Year in an Intimate Courthouse Ceremony

Kaity Biggar and Zach Shallcross Plan Intimate Courthouse Wedding

Kaity Biggar and Zach Shallcross, who found love and got engaged during Season 27 of The Bachelor, have announced their plans to marry this year in an intimate courthouse ceremony.

During a recent appearance on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Kaity revealed that the couple opted for a simple city hall wedding due to the exorbitant costs of traditional ceremonies. They were quoted between $70,000 to $80,000 for a wedding, prompting them to take a more economical approach.

Despite the scaled-down ceremony, Kaity expressed her excitement about the decision, emphasizing that Zach was supportive regardless of the wedding’s size. She also shared that they plan to host a larger celebration in the future. Currently living together in Austin, Texas, the couple is considering starting a family within the next year and a half. Additionally, they aim to purchase a home by the end of the year, having shifted their focus from North Carolina back to Austin due to recent weather concerns.

“Life is great! Zach and I have decided we’re gonna get married this year. No, I’m not telling you guys a date. But yeah! We’re so excited. And then we’re thinking like a year and a half from now, having a little baby! Because I’m so maternal and I can’t wait to have kids. But I’m just loving this stage in our relationship and where we are in life, so I’m just soaking it all in. And we’re traveling so much, and I just love that man to death,” Kaity shared enthusiastically.

During the podcast, hosts Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile asked Kaity if she and Zach had already chosen a wedding location.

“We’re literally just gonna go to City Hall,” she responded. “A wedding is so expensive, and no money is coming from our families. This is genuinely coming out of Zach and I’s pockets, which is fine. And we were quoted like $70K to $80K for a wedding, and I’m like, ‘You know what, baby? Let’s sign the paper and then we’ll have a huge party later down the road.’

“And he honestly lit up when I said that because it wasn’t his idea. He was like, ‘If you want the big wedding, we’ll do it. If you want a small wedding, whatever you want.’ And I was like, ‘This is what I want.’”

The couple previously shared their decision to forgo a large wedding to save money for a house. When asked if they plan to stay in Austin long-term, Kaity provided another exciting update.

“Yeah, so I think we’re gonna actually buy a house by the end of the year together. We were thinking North Carolina, but when that tornado came through, it kind of gave me the heebie-jeebies a little bit, so we kind of took a step back from that and I think we’re gonna buy in Austin. And then see where life takes us. We’re not married to Austin for the rest of our lives,” she explained.

As Kaity and Zach embark on this new chapter, their focus remains on building a future together, with plans for a home, a family, and a celebration of their love on their own terms.
