Here’s What Gabby Said About Erich’s Leaked Texts Scandal & His Ex

Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer are a happily engaged couple.

Just before the finale, Erich’s ex leaked text messages between them telling the Bachelor Nation that he only went on the show to further his career.

Both  Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer are ready to talk about the drama and what they feel about it now.

Here’s what Gabby had to say about the whole situation.

“You can’t plan for so many of these things that happen in the outside world because you really get to know these people in a bubble,” she tells E! News. “So, you don’t know everything about their previous relationships or just every little detail.”

The Bachelorette also revealed that Erich told her about the texts months before they leaked so she wasn’t surprised to see them online.

“I think it took a lot of courage on his end and honesty to bring it to me before I found out,” she said. “It hurt to hear the first time, obviously. I took a step back, not in our relationship, but just in the conversation to really think about things. I think it was a really good growing opportunity for both of us. We both heard each other out and just agreed to be better in the future.”

They also addressed this on The Bachelorette Live Finale.

“I met this girl about a month before this all started, and I had no idea I was going to come here,” he told Jesse Palmer. “And ultimately, I realized there was not a connection long-term, and it was about the same time the show had reached out.”

“I handled it poorly 100 percent,” he continued. “I led her on, and I wanna own that. I have no hard feelings toward this girl at all, and I fully understand her actions. I kinda took the easy way out in a sense where I didn’t wanna have a hard conversation. But I’ve learned a lot from it, and I wanna own that 100 percent. And I do not have any hard feelings for this girl. It was a mistake that I made on my part.”

“His honesty and willing to take accountability is all I can really ask for and is something that I want in a partner,” Gabby added. “So it’s been hard but when you say yes to spending the rest of your life with someone it’s not going to be easy, especially in the public eye. So we’re just trying the best that we can to make it work.”
